Water Smart Lawn (Turf)- Basic Plus Guide
| The goal is to apply ½” of water during each of the watering days in the warmest months - from May through September - with less needed in the cooler months in early spring and late fall. To learn how long to run your system to obtain ½” of water: | ||||||||||||||||||
• Place a rain gauge or a can such as a tuna can or cat food can - in the middle of your lawn. • Run your system 20 minutes • Observe the rain gauge or put a ruler in the can to see if you collected more, less or about 1/2” of water • Look at the table below to select your run times |
